Dallas emcee Lejend presents the Tahiti-directed music video for “The Quote”, his new single produced by J.Lew. “The Quote” is a leadup to Ears & Eyes To The World, Lejend’s collaborative album with Nashville producer M. Slago set to feature Carlitta Durand, Buffalo Black and Verbal Seed. Lejend has collaborated with Opio of Souls Of Mischief (listen to “Have”) and Count Bass D (listen to The Great Truth) since Unconditional, his 2005 debut project. He has shared stages with Donwill of Tanya Morgan, Ras Kass, Killah Priest, Rhymefest and Kidz In The Hall. “I wanted to display lyricism because it’s a missing element these days,” Lejend says about the new single. “I also wanted to speak on my current struggles and challenges and my attitude and approach to those issues, and let listeners know I have solutions for problems and that is what society is lacking currently. I want to make statements with my music. I heard the beat from J.Lew and it came together organically. When we started conceptualizing the video, we wanted something street level and raw representing the everyday gritty struggle of the common folks.” Ears & Eyes To The World drops fall in conjunction with his new T-shirt line Natural Selection.
