Queens, New York emcee Rock Mecca presents “Gladiator Schools” featuring Roc Marciano, a single from Ironworld, his forthcoming album dropping February 2 on Soulspazm. The album will also feature Vast Aire of Cannibal Ox, Kool Keith and Mach Hommy (stream “Killa”), Tragedy Khadafi (stream “Coliseums”) and Canibus. The album is produced by Jake Palumbo, who has also collaborated with Ras Kass, Masta Ace and El Da Sensei. Rock’s previous projects include the album Pirate Radio Star (stream on Bandcamp) and “Prizefights” (stream on Bandcamp). Rock says “Gladiator Schools” was inspired by “all the older guys in the street that pass down misguided knowledge because they don’t know better. A lot of misinformation in the hood and you might lose years of your life or lose your life going down that path. This was about steering then ship back in the right direction after making mistakes through self-determination and knowledge. Roc Marciano comes by the same studio I record in when he’s in NYC so we asked him to jump on it and he takes the story from where I end it.”
