Dublin, Georgia rapper Shaka J Luciano presents “Garbage Day”, the first single from Hate Me Now Love Me Later 2, Shaka’s forthcoming album featuring Tony Dezil, T-Ray, Mysta Pugh and Southpaw Willie. The son of African-American and Jamaican parents, Shaka was conceived in Panama during heavy bombing, born on an Oklahoma City army base the same day as his great-grandfather died, and survived a near-fatal train collision in Florida before discovering rap at age 12. HMNLML 2 is the followup to the first volume and a previous album Permission For Intermission. Of the new album’s backstory Shaka says “I try to sell my mixtape on the street but there is no success. A strange coroner orchestrates a meeting with the historical strategist Brutus. Brutus helps then betrays Shaka in an attempt to use his voice to finally win for himself.” Shaka says the new single was inspired “by a year that I had trouble in school and I had to choose what lifestyle to throw away for garbage day. In a sense this song was supposed to be a trash bag full of my throwaway lines.”
