LA emcee Radioinactive was part of Log Cabin, the ’90s crew that included a young Murs and Eligh. Rolling Stone and URB co-signed him soon after he rapped as a goat on “Farmer’s Market Of The Beast” from producer Omid‘s 1998 compilation Beneath The Surface, also featuring Dilated Peoples and Freestyle Fellowship. He dropped the solo albums Pyramidi, Free Kamaal and Soundtrack To A Book. He collaborated with his crew Shape Shifters on Shape Shifters Was Here, and Daedelus and Busdriver on The Weather. Now, fresh back from three months traveling the Sahara Desert with a band of Tuaregs, he dons one of Quincy Jones‘ old suits in the Tucker Capps-directed music video for “Mint Tea”, the first single from his forthcoming album The Akashic Record. French duo La Caution produced “Tea”, originally heard as “The A La Menthe” on the soundtrack to the 2004 movie Oceans 12 starring George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts. “Tea” also f eatures 2Mex, the LA emcee known for his work with The Visionaries, Project Blowed, Sage Francis, Slug of Atmosphere and many more. The “Mint Tea” single drops April 9.
