Bulgarian-bred, Belgium-based singer/songwriter Yavor presents his new single “Illuminate”. The track is produced by Austin, Texas producer Erik Rico, whose production credits include work on 2Pac’s The Rose That Grew From Concrete album as well as Ladybug Mecca’s Trip The Light Fantastic album and Q-Tip’s track “Fear In The Heart Of Man”. “Illuminate” also features guest vocals from fellow Bulgarian singer Mey, who recently guested on several tracks on American jazz drummer Poogie Bell’s Suga Top album (listen). “Illuminate” was Song Of The Week at USMusicSupervisionCentral.com (link). Singing since age five and playing guitar since eight, Yavor founded the acapella quartet Jazzabell at age 16, which won the Special Viewers’ Prize at Bulgaria’s Golden Orpheus International Festival for Pop Music. Yavor’s former band Kaffe went on to represent Bulgaria in 2005’s Eurovision contest. His other bands include Jailhouse Chili (listen) and The Sonic Punch (listen). “The melody of the song occurred to me during a break at work,” says Yavor. “It was raining so I hummed it into my phone. When I got home to work it out, it started sounding like a duet. Then I thought of Mey, cause the vibe was jazzy and I knew it would fit her voice. That was back in 2012. In 2014 we recorded the song and submitted it to Erik Rico for production.”
